Laku - Secret Blend 2019

Each year, winery owner Santiago Achurra and winemaker Benoit Fitte spend three days tasting barrel samples in order to find the best batches.  At the end of the three days, seven of their 3,200 barrels are chosen and blended to create LAKU.  The blend is a closely guarded secret, known only to Benoit, and revealed once the bottle is opened via the fine print on the cork.

Full bodied with grapes sourced from vines in Maule, Curico and Colchagua.  Complexity is accented by dark red fruits, chocolate and vanilla with tertiary notes of dried black fruit and autumnal underbrush.  Maturation is eighteen months in new French oak.

Pairs with grilled or roast beef, beef stew and strong hard cheeses such as mature cheddar.
